mostly just forward environment variables to make arguments,
this partially reverts 5d1e51a199
which removed them because they're already set in env--
but that's not enough to override make vars.
Also, readline is buildInput not nativeBuildInput
(we need headers and to link against it)

Lua combines simple procedural syntax with powerful data
description constructs based on associative arrays and extensible
semantics. Lua is dynamically typed, runs by interpreting bytecode
for a register-based virtual machine, and has automatic memory
management with incremental garbage collection, making it ideal
for configuration, scripting, and rapid prototyping.
