sources should be stored. E.g. "nixos-checkout /home/eelco/srcs"
will check out to /home/eelco/srcs/{nixos,nixpkgs}. Probably the
/etc/nixos default should be removed eventually because /etc is a
pretty weird place to keep large source trees.
